![]() ![]() Is there a way to allow me to use my new phone in the car in compliance with the law and without forcing myself to handle it dangerously while driving? I also contacted Audi who confirmed that the iPhone 11 model is tested and working well on my car, as can also be seen from the specific page The handsfree system of my car works perfectly with the other iPhones in my family (6, 6s, 8 and XR). COMPLETE RESTORE OF THE PHONE AND CONNECTION BEFORE RECHARGING THE BACKUP.Įven new iPhone 11 still "blocks" my Audi Handsfree in the same way as always. My phone is updated to version 13.6, I have already contacted Apple support and tried to make new pairings (always after restarting the phone and the car audio system, temporarily turning off the Bluetooth and DELETING THE PREVIOUS BLUETOOTH PROFILES BOTH FROM THE PHONE AND FROM THE CAR) by trying, in order: The phone is paired correctly but DURING THE CONVERSATIONS, THE COMMUNICATION WITH THE CAR IS OFTEN INTERRUPTED AND ALMOST ALWAYS IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ACCEPT OR TERMINATE THE CALL IF YOU DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BLUETOOTH TEMPORARILY. In fact, there is an instability of the Bluetooth connection with the speakerphone of my car: I recently purchased an iPhone 11 and, unfortunately, I can no longer use the speakerphone of my car (Audi A6 2016) which is not CarPlay but a simple handsfree connection. This makes me fairly certain the problem is with the new iPhone 11. When I put the SIM card back into my old still going strong (except for the battery lifetime) iPhone 6S+ and pair it with the car, all the problems are magically gone. I have several times tried unpairing and pairing again, that works flawless, but does not solve the handsfree problem. My car does not have any more updates available for the Bluetooth Handsfree function (called Audi MMI). My phone is updated shortly after every iOS release (a handful during the spring). None of those are safe options while driving. I often succeed dialing manually or from "recent calls", but may end up in the same "hang" situation where I either have to turn off the car's ignition or my phone.I get the Siri "tone", but my commands fail. I have severe problems receiving calls incoming calls are annunciated but I cannot answer (continues to ring). The new iPhone 11 pairs flawlessly with the car's BT handsfree but: After upgrading from iPhone 6S+ to an iPhone 11 in this spring of 2020 I have had major problems with using the handsfree function in my car, Audi A6 2015. ![]()
